Ukrgrafit could be shut down because of the lack of the main raw materials – anthracite coal. At present the company has to import coal from Russia.

Ukrgrafit manufactures electrodes and other coal-graphite products for metal companies. Before the blockade it imported raw materials from the militants-controlled area of Donbass. When these deliveries ceased, the company had to decrease working hours.

“If the anthracite deliveries are blocked altogether, in particular, if the Cabinet of Ministers prohibits imports from Russia, all the manufacturing chains will be paralyzed”, the company deputy director Vera Khimchenko said.

According to her, the works has coal for 2 months. In case Ukrgrafit is shut down, some 2 thousand employees will lose their jobs. (Ukrainian metal)
