The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) has claimed resistance of head of Zaporozhye Titanium and Magnesium Works LLC and its investor to returning the company to state ownership.

SAPO said on its Facebook page that despite the attempts to hinder the return of the company to management of the state, this process is taking shape: SAPO prosecutors managed to collect evidence and were protecting the interests of the state in courts.

The office recalled that Donetsk business court of appeals satisfied a counterclaim of SAPO and ruled the business court of Zaporozhye region to hear the lawsuit of SAPO seeking the termination of the contract between the State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPF) and offshore company Tolexis Trading Limited (Cyprus), part of Dmytro Firtash’s Group DF, on the creation of ZTMK LLC on the basis of the eponymous state-run enterprise.

“This increases chances of SAPO prosecutors to prove the fact of non-fulfillment of liabilities by the investor and win the case. However, with each new victory we feel increasing pressure and the larger number of attempts to influence the return of the works to the state. We understand what expectations society has towards us in combating corruption. We are doing our best to receive the positive result in the case, despite the pressure. The fact that the pressure is growing convinces us that our course is right,” SAPO said. (Interfax-Ukraine/Ukrainian metal)
