Severstal has chosen Hanwha Techwin as the supplier of electric compressors to the Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works.

Under the contract the supplier will also assemble and put the main machinery into operation. Assembly of compressors, pressure piping, as well as modernization of the cooling system are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.

“The cost of the project is 900 million rubles. The replacement of compressors will provide for the compression of the air at the needed level and the supply of air into the CherMK network with less electricity expenses”, Severstal Russian Steel CEO Vadim Germanov says. (Ukrainian metal)
