The increase of railroad tariffs this year by 25%, planned by Ukrzaliznytsia, is inadmissible, the Pobuzhye Ferronickel Plant CEO Oleg Bespalov believes.

“They come and say that they need to increase tariffs to buy wagons, as they have no money”, he said.

According to Bespalov, this has been heard before, but the situation with the rolling stock has not improved after the previous tariff increase.

In case railroad transportation tariff is increased, the prime cost at PFK will increase by 7-8%.

“We transport some 150 thousand tons of cargo via railroad each month, with 120 thousand tons being ore, so this is quite weighty for us”, he said. (Ukrainian metal)
