In 2019 Tau-Ken Altyn plans to produce 25 tons of gold.

According to the works financial director Zhanar Rakhimova, a part of gold from the Bakyrchik deposits with high arsenic content Polymetal will export to China for processing, and after that return it to Kazakhstan. Some gold with lower arsenic content will be turned into dore alloy in Russia and processed at Tau-Ken Altyn.

The company is ready to produce 70 tons of gold and 70 tons of silver per year.

“Now we have reached the level of 12 tons of gold per year with the price of $5-6 per ounce, that’s the level of the Russian companies”, she said. “Our goal is to reach 18 tons and higher, to become even better than our Russian competitors”.

In 2016 Kazakhstan produced 37 tons of gold, with Tau-Ken Altyn yielding 12 tons, KazZinc – 19 tons, and Kazakhmys – 6 tons. (Ukrainian metal)
