The construction of the ball-rolling mill has started in the rail-beam shop of Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works, a part of Evraz.
According to the group statement, the site for the equipment is being prepared.
The new machinery will produce 60-120 mm diameter balls of the special V group of hardness. At present Russia does not produce such balls. The main consumers of these products are mining and processing works.
The delivery of the first lot of equipment is scheduled for Q2. The ball-rolling mill will be put into operation at the end of the year. Evraz investments into the project will total 1 billion rubles. (Ukrainian metal)
