Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works has been shut down because of the lack of iron ore raw materials and the railroad blockade.
Yenakievo Works and Donetskstal are also on the brink of being shut down.
The current average daily pig iron and steel output is 5% lower MoM.
As of February 14, 20 out of 28 blast furnaces (71%), 15 out of 21 converters (71%), 7 out of 9 open-hearth furnaces (78%) and 6 out of 16 electric arc furnaces are operating.
Ukrmetallurgprom forecasts the steel smelting in March on the level of 2 million tons, with pig iron at 1.9 million tons and rolled metal at 1.8 million tons.
In January Ukraine produced 2.103 million tons of steel, 1.914 million tons of pig iron and 1.855 million tons of rolled metal, up by 8.5%, down by 0.3% and up by 9.7% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
