In January Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works, a part of Metinvest, produced 173 thousand tons of rolled metal, down by 1.1% YoY.
Steel output increased by 15.2%, to 189 thousand tons, of pig iron – by 9%, to 173 thousand tons.
In December 2016 the company produced 160 thousand tons of rolled metal, 154 thousand tons of steel and 137 thousand tons of pig iron, as opposed to 164 thousand tons, 159 thousand tons and 142 thousand tons in November 2016 respectively.
EMZ was idle from February 7 till March 16, 2016.
In late May – early June 2016 it had difficulties with iron ore raw materials deliveries.
In 2016 EMZ produced 1.917 million tons of rolled metal, 1.954 million tons of steel and 1.827 million tons of pig iron, all up by 7.5%, 7.5% and 10.9% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
