Navoi Iron and Steel Works has resumed gold mining at Amantaytau mine in the Central Kyzylkum.
In 2003 the previous owner Amantaytau Goldfields put the gold mining factory in operation there with the capacity to produce 6.3 tons of gold per year. In 2011 the company was liquidated and its assets given to the Navoi Works.
The annual processing of the mine is 1 million tons of ore.
In 2015-2022 NGMK plans to construct 3 gold mines valued at $332.7 million, to enable it operating for 40 years more.
The works mines around 70 tons of gold per year, with the total gold output in the country at 100 tons. (Ukrainian metal)
