In January-September Russia produced 86637 tons of stainless steel, up by 3.3% YoY.
Flat hot-rolled metal output went up by 6.7%, that of bars – by 47.5%, and of electric-welded pipes – by 19.1%, all YoY.
At the same time cold-rolled flat metal output dropped by 13.5%, of round billets – by 41.2%, of wire – by 32.6%, of seamless pipes – by 3.4%, of primary billets – by 42.5%.
The leading stainless steel producers were Krasny Octyabr – 49.3% (42.9% in Q1-3 2015), Zlatoustovsky EMZ – 13.9% (17.6%), Izhstal (12% and 8.2%), Electrostal (10.8% and 11.5%) and Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works (9.5% and 14.7%).
In January-September Krasny Octyabr increased rolled metal output by 18.5%, and Izhstal – by 51%, while Zlatoustovsky EMZ decreased output by 19.1%, Electrostal – by 3.9% and Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works – by 33.8%. (Ukrainian metal)
