In January-September Bratsk Ferroalloys Works (a part of Mechel) produced over 23 thousand tons of FS-75 ferrosilicon, up by 80% YoY.

This ferrosilicon is used in the production of electric steels, as well as springs, construction and car parts. The increase was the result of the improvement of the world market situation.

The company exports some 80% of its products to Japan, USA and Canada. But 2016 saw the considerable increase in deliveries to the local market (by 161%) due to the rise in demand. The main consumers in Russia are Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works, MMK and Severstal. (Ukrainian metal)
