Beginning with October 19, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih had to start paying for damages caused by its pollution.

According to the new Tax Code of Ukraine, AMKR has to pay the following to the state: 30% to the special state budget fund (21 million UAH) and 70% to the local budget (50.4 million UAH). The latter will be divided between the regional budget (14.4 million UAH) and the city budget (36 million UAH).

On October 18, the Dnepropetrovsk Commercial Court of Appeals found the works guilty of damaging the environment for the total sum of 72 million UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
