Since 2013 Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works has decreased natural gas consumption by 69 million cubic meters, or by 40%.
According to the company CEO Yuri Zinchenko, thanks to the ISO 50001 implementation the works was also able to save 46 million kW-h of electricity, thus saving over 500 million UAH.
At present the company uses 102 cubic meters of gas to produce 1 ton of steel, down by 40% compared to 2013. (Ukrainian metal)
