This year VSMPO-Avisma (Russia) will decrease raw materials purchases from Ukraine. It will buy only 85% of ilmenite from Ukrainian suppliers, down from 100% earlier.
“There are no long-term contracts on ilmenite. They are only concluded for 1 year. This year 85% of ilmenite will be supplied from Ukraine”, the company CEO Mikhail Voevodin said.
The company can buy from 12 sources.
“But Ukrainian ilmenite is still the most efficient for us quality- and logistics-wise. And we are their most efficient buyer as well”, he said. (Ukrainian metal)
