The SCM Group corporate social responsibility results for January-June 2016 consolidated in course of preparations of the Group’s non-financial report.
In H1 SCM Group paid 16.92 billion UAH in taxes to local and national budgets, showing a 7.7% rise YoY. The company invested about 6 billion UAH in modernization of its production facilities, a similar amount as in 2015, and increased funding for social programs by more than 5% YoY, to 3.12 billion UAH.
“SCM Group remains the biggest private taxpayer in Ukraine and a socially responsible business despite the challenging economic environment in the domestic and international markets and despite the fact that our key industrial groups – Metinvest and DTEK – are facing problems as some of their assets are in the conflict area and coping with a debt burden. We support the national economy by paying our taxes and we support the cities and towns where our businesses operate by making systemic social investments”, Oleg Popov, CEO of SCM, said.
