In early September Ukrainian exporters of rebars announced a price drop.
Rebar manufacturers were unable to keep the previous price level, experts say. Due to the low sales in August most companies had to review their price policy.
In September Ukrainian rebar prices decreased by $5-10 per ton to $345-350 per ton FOB Ukrainian seaports.
According to the traders, even this level seems overpriced, taking into account the high competitiveness of the Asian suppliers and the low demand on key markets.
Most of the market players believe that the price of the Ukrainian rebar will fall again in the near future. The next price could be $335-340 per ton FOB. (Ukrainian metal)
