In January-August Ukrainian metal companies exported 17.9 million tons of metal products, up by 2.3%, or by 0.4 million tons, but down by 3.1%, or by $0.3 billion, to $9.3 billion, YoY.

According to some experts, profit decrease was caused by price fall on world markets.

During the period in question Ukraine exported 14.9 million tons of rolled metal (including 6.8 million tons of semi-finished products), 1.6 million tons of pig iron, 570 thousand tons of ferroalloys, down by 5%, but up by 22% and 31% YoY respectively.

Export share in the total volume of rolled metal produced reached 87%, up by 7% YoY.
