In January Ukrainian refractory material producers decreased their output by 23%, to 19 thousand tons, as compared with January 2013.

According to Liliya Shumyachkova, CEO of the Ukrogneupor association, the main reason for the decrease was the absence of orders from mining-metallurgical companies.

Some metal companies haven’t even placed orders for 2014.

In January metal companies received 293 thousand tons of scrap metal, up by 8% YoY.

Scrap supplies in warehouses decreased by 45 thousand tons in January and were on the level of 275 thousand tons by February 1. (Ukrainian metal)
